The Storage screen showed a single used/free split so far, useful but not very informative on its own. It now breaks that down into photos, videos, and a combined "apps, system & other" bucket, each shown with its own size and color.
Android only exposes an exact per-app storage breakdown behind a special permission that needs a manual grant outside the app, the same kind of complexity that led to opening Android's own app settings for the Apps tab rather than reimplementing an app list. Rather than ask for that permission for one screen, this bucket is calculated as what's left over once photos and videos are accounted for, which is honest about what it is: everything that isn't media, not a precise app-by-app number.
